Privacy Policy

A description of what actually happens to the information you send, written to be read rather than to be defensible.

This policy covers egresswindowsedmonton.com. It describes the information this site collects, why it is collected and what happens to it.

What you send us

When you submit the quote form, you send:

  • Your name
  • A phone number, an email address, or both — at least one, so we can reply
  • The community or postal code of the property
  • What kind of project it is, and whether a window already exists in that wall
  • Anything you type into the message field
  • Your answers from the project planner, if you used it
  • Optional window style, measurements, room purpose, timeline and photos you choose to attach

All of it is used for one purpose: to prepare a response to your request and to reply to you about it.

What we record alongside it

  • The page you submitted from, and the page you first arrived on.
  • Where you came from — the referring site, and any campaign parameters in the link you followed. This tells us which of our pages are useful.
  • Your browser’s user agent string.
  • A one-way hash of your IP address, used to rate-limit the form against automated abuse. The hash is salted and truncated, and your actual IP address is never stored. Where no salt is configured, no hash is stored at all — an unsalted hash of an IP address would be trivially reversible and therefore not anonymous.

Where it goes

Submissions are delivered by up to two independent channels:

  • Email, sent through a third-party email delivery provider to the inbox that handles quote requests.
  • A database, hosted by a third-party database provider, so a request is not lost if email delivery fails.

Both channels are used because losing a quote request is worse than storing it twice. Your information is not sold, rented, or shared for advertising.

We currently have no confirmed contractor partner. We will request your permission before sharing your enquiry or photos with an independent contractor. Submitting this form does not authorise advertising or unrelated contact.

Optional photos

Photos are optional. The browser compresses them and removes embedded location metadata before upload. They are saved privately with your enquiry and sent as attachments to the owner notification inbox. We do not publish photo URLs or include photo content, filenames or measurements in analytics. Avoid people, personal documents and identifying details in your pictures. Authorised database and inbox users can access attachments for replying to your enquiry.

How long it is kept

Quote requests are kept for as long as they are useful for responding to you and for keeping a record of work quoted. If you would like your request deleted, ask and it will be.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. It sets cookies and records page views and a small number of named events — a quote form being started, a quote being submitted, a phone or email link being clicked, and the project planner being completed.

We do not send your name, phone number, email address or message to Google Analytics. The events record that something happened and on which page, not who did it.

The project planner keeps your answers in your own browser’s session storage so they can be attached to a quote request. They are cleared when you close the tab, or when a request is submitted.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS with a strict content security policy. Form submissions are validated on the server, rate limited, and sanitised before being stored or emailed. Credentials for the delivery services are held server-side and are never exposed to your browser.

Your choices

  • You can ask what we hold about you.
  • You can ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
  • You can ask us not to contact you again.

Use the quote form for any of these — it reaches the same place.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what happens to information already sent, we will say so here rather than quietly editing the text.
